This wine of controlled origin has been appreciated for a long time because it has followed a work of precision in the category of the noble-rotted white wines. As early as in the fourth century, therefore quite a long time before its creation, Ausone the poet would like to glorify the vineyards in this region.

With a modest proportion of approximately 400 hectares for a number of 70 producers, the region has been able to preserve its values of quality along with its kindhearted characteristic.

The estates with more than 10 hectares are rare and only the vineyards situated on slopes can receive the title " Wine of controlled origin" . Therefore the production per hectare each year, which was limited to 40 hectolitres as early as in 1936, still approximately amounts in practice to 35 hectolitres.

The estates are small but a strong common sense of identity enables the winegrowers, who are grouped in the Loupiac Wine Syndicate, to join their efforts together.

They are the descendants of a tradition but are also active in a modern process : they form a young dynamic group who is always willing to improve the tools necessary to its passion. Thus, they keep adapting recent techniques in their work and communication to the service of a certain skill and experience which have been shaped a long time ago.

These craftsmen know how to preserve the specific value of each estate within their common coherent community.

Like the generous full-bodied wine they produce, the Loupiac winegrowers maintain a tradition of welcoming and are open to the public world.

Always willing to improve their kindheartedness everyday, they are always ready to welcome you, and this at any time of year. They are communicative to any public and will help you discover their passion in order to make you enjoy better the fruit of their patient work.

Their strong generous value can also be traced in the numerous initiatives they take in France as well as abroad. Thus, the Loupiac Wine Syndicate organizes food and wine-tasting meetings which combine the tasting of wines of controlled origin and the tasting of worldwide cooking.

In the same perspective, the very active " Brotherhood of the Loupiac Wine Cooper Craftsmen " travels out of its boundaries, and proposes warm sessions of wine-tasting. With the intervention of the " Great Council of the Bordeaux Wines Brotherhood " it even arranges workshops and brotherhoods in other countries.
